About Us

How it all started

The Time & Talents Club was founded by Gool Shavaksha in 1934, and has grown from strength to strength, upon a firm foundation of philanthropy, with the goal of giving back to society.

We are an officially registered and certified Public Trust with the Public Trusts Office, under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950. Our certificate registration number is: F – 783 (BOM.) as per the certificate issued to our founder, Ms. Gool Shavaksha, on 23 June, 1960 by the Charity Commissioner of the Greater Bombay region.

In addition to its membership, the Time & Talents Club has several office bearers and an administrative team. The work we do is divided into five committees, each of which is headed by a member by rotation.

Each committee submits a detailed report of the work it has undertaken in the past year, which is presented during the Annual General Meeting. These reports are documented and archived by the administrative team, and the team-head and committee members are responsible for seeing that the initiatives are undertaken as outlined in the reports.

At the time of each initiative’s inception, the committee members are hands-on in ensuring that the project takes off on schedule and as planned. During the course of the project, the committee monitors it’s progress. At the end of the project, the committee members go out to evaluate the positive impact of the initiative and to ensure that it is benefitting the community that it is intended for, at the grassroots level.

While our headquarters are in Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay), India, our projects, outreach and initiatives impact a variety of individuals and communities across India.

From time to time we may also choose to partner with other well-known and reputed not-for-profit organizations.
